KING CHARLES III

NATIONS AROUND THE WORLD HONOR KING CHARLES III ON POSTAGE STAMPS

NEW ANNOUNCEMNT – UPDATED RELEASE!

New York, January, 13th 2023 The United Kingdom’s new monarch is announced, marking the historic transition from Queen Elizabeth II to her successor, eldest son, King Charles III. This changing of the guards comes just after the late Queen Elizabeth II celebrated her Platinum Jubilee. In support of world unity, IGPC is pleased to release the recently approved stamp images honoring King Charles III.

On 10th September 2022 Charles was officially proclaimed King at St. James’s Palace in London, in front of the Accession Council. King Charles III is now head of the Commonwealth, an association of 56 independent countries and 2.5 billion people. While his duties remain effective immediately, he will not receive a formal coronation ceremony until May, 6th 2023.

During his meeting with the Council, the King stated, “I am deeply aware of this great inheritance and of the duties and heavy responsibilities of sovereignty which have now passed to me.”

Nations around the world have traditionally honored the Royal family on postage stamps. Of the latest Nations around the world to honor King Charles III is the South Pacific Island Nation of the Marshall Islands and the Caribbean Island Nation of Nevis.

The stamps depict the King’s likeness, as well as, other members of the Royal family. The stamps represent a long legacy of the monarchy. Designed by the talented Art Team of IGPC, the official international postal agency for the government postal authorities of Gambia, Grenada, Marshall Islands and many more.

Stamp collectors can acquire these new postage stamps from the local post offices of the issuing countries, or from their local stamp dealer. Stamps are also available for purchase directly from the IGPC website at www.igpc.com
