First Ever Lunar New Year Postage Stamp Trading Cards

Lunar New Year Postage Stamp Trading Card Set issued for Shanghai Stamp Exhibition

Shanghai, China. December 2024 – The Inter-Governmental Philatelic Corporation (IGPC) is thrilled to announce the launch of its latest innovation: Collectible Stamp Trading Cards, a limited-edition product celebrating the Lunar New Year. This exciting release continues IGPC’s exploration in the vibrant trading card market. Some of the previously released postage stamp cards featured the Disney icon Donald Duck and Major League Baseball Hall of Famers such as Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, and Nolan Ryan.

Earlier this month, the Lunar New Year stamp cards were launched in limited form at the International Stamp Exhibition held in Shanghai, China, where they were very well received. Now, the Lunar New Year Collectible Stamp Trading Cards will be available to all customers exclusively at www.igpc.com. This unique product is set to captivate both stamp enthusiasts and trading card collectors alike, celebrating the rich cultural heritage of the Lunar New Year while connecting with a broader audience.

The cards feature stunning officially approved stamps from Grenada and the Grenadines, which IGPC has a longstanding history with. In the second half of the 20th Century, IGPC established a thriving client base in Africa and cultivated relationships with the emerging Caribbean nations, including Antigua and Barbuda, the Bahamas, Dominica, Grenada, Saint Kitts and Nevis, and Saint Vincent and the Grenadines. By the late 1980s, the agency was serving over two-thirds of the Caribbean and had solidified its reputation as a trusted postal and philatelic resource for newly independent countries.

The cards feature animals from the Chinese Zodiac. It is believed that the animal that aligns with the year you were born will describe your personality. Luckily, each animal contains positive traits. For example, the Rat is associated with resourcefulness and kindness, the Dragon with confidence and intelligence, and the Goat with a calm and sympathetic demeanor.

Each trading card set comes with twelve cards, one for each zodiac sign. The fronts of the cards display beautiful artwork designed for and approved by the official government postal authority of Grenada and the Grenadines. The backs of the cards were designed by the gifted IGPC art department, who are committed to innovation and creativity.

Collectors can purchase these worldwide limited edition trading cards through IGPC’s official website at www.igpc.com.

The Inter-Government Philatelic Corporation, with headquarters in New York and fondly known globally as “IGPC”, is the world’s largest and most respected international philatelic agency, representing official government postal authorities from all continents and servicing the global philatelic community in all matters of philately and beyond.
